Notes From The City

* The City would like to remind everyone that storm sewers should be kept clear of all grass clippings, yard debris and garbage. The purpose of the storm sewers is to move rainwater away from residences and keep the water out of peoples basements and yards. If the drains are clogged with debris they can not do their jobs and the water will back up and possibly damage property. The City does have the drains professionally cleaned every year but this is expensive and having them come twice a year is cost prohibitive. The best way to remedy this is that when you mow to turn the mower so that the clippings go into your yard rather than into the street. Another easy solution is to not litter and ensure that your garbage cans have well fitting lids that keep your refuse contained. This will reduce the amount of garbage being blown around town and dragged about by animals. Together we can keep our City a safe and clean place to live.

* Dumpsters are available to rent on a first come first serve basis from Chenoa City Hall. City dumpsters CAN NOT be used to dispose of the following: tires, automobile batteries, complete buildings, steel or appliances, yard waste, paint, concrete or bricks.

The fees are as follows:

2 yard dumpster - $20 per dump
4 yard dumpster - $40 per dump
6 yard dumpster - $60 per dump

There is a $10 rental fee per week on all dumpsters. If you have the dumpster emptied that week the rental fee is applied towards the dump fee. There is also a 21 day limit on rental of any size dumpster.
