The 2005 Chenoa 4th of July Theme is "Red, White & Blue Salute Our Troops". The theme was created by Desirai Champion. Desirai is a 4th grade student in Mr. Elder class. She felt this would be a good theme because "we should honor our troops." She received a $25.00 check from the committee and McDonald's gift certificate, she will also ride in the parade. The contest was open to all of students in the grade school from grades K-4. Students that participated in the contest but were not chosen received a coupon for a free ice cream cone at McDonalds.
