Decorating Contest Winners - 2005

ALZONA
LEE - 310 S. Second Ave.
Alzona Lee went over the
top with her decorating for the 4th of July House Decorating
Contest. When the judges saw the effort put into her house,
they were sure that this was done from the heart. She included
many Red, White and Blue Decorations, but the sailor suit, the
Navy picture, and the little girls dressed and knitting the
American Flag, won the judges over. They all felt that this
was someone who in her heart knows what it is to support our
troops. We are proud that you are a Chenoan.

KANDY AND
TONY BURGESS -
503 Fuller St.
Kandy and Tony Burgess showed
us that they really support the troops. Though the picture does
not show all of the decorations, the entire yard has been decorated
in Red, White and Blue, right down to Red, White and Blue table
and chairs with numerous spot lights to accent the displays
throughout the yard. Tony commented that it is very hard to
find items that have "Support Our Troops" on them,
the judges appreciated all of the work put into his displays.

MIKE
AND SUSAN EMBRY -
301 N. First Ave.
Mike and Susan Embry's house
placed third because of the display of the American Flag, Uncle
Sam, and the Red, White and Blue Banner. The picture does not
show the small trays that were painted like a flag on the side
of the porch along with Red, White and Blue drapes on the door
entry and under windows, along with Red Stars.

The judges and the 4th of July
Committee would like to thank all of the people who entered the
contest and invite more to enter next year.
The people of Chenoa have showed
that they truly do support our troops, and when cars pass through
Chenoa, this will be noticed and people will know that we care.
Great job Chenoans, looking forward to next year.
